IEC standard motors
IEC standard motors comply with international standards set by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). These standards define precise requirements for the design, performance and safety of electric motors. This standardization ensures that engines are compatible and meet the same quality requirements worldwide, facilitating global trade and use.
Protection types (IP protection)
IEC standard motors are classified according to protection levels, which indicate the degree of protection against the ingress of solids and liquids. These protection levels are defined by the IEC 60529 standard and expressed in IP codes, such as IP55. A motor with protection class IP55 is protected against dust in harmful quantities and against water jets from any direction, which expands its application possibilities in different environments and increases operational safety.
Efficiency classes
The efficiency classes of IEC standard motors, defined in the IEC 60034-30 standard, characterize the energy consumption of the motors. These classes range from IE1 (Standard Efficiency) to IE4 (Super Premium Efficiency). Motors with higher efficiency classes consume less energy and therefore contribute to lower operating costs and a better environmental balance. Choosing a motor with a higher efficiency class can therefore offer both economic and ecological advantages.
Application and interchangeability
Thanks to worldwide recognition and standardization, IEC standard motors are ideal for use in different countries and markets. This standardization allows for easy maintenance and replacement of motors, as replacement motors from different manufacturers can be used as long as they comply with the same IEC standards. This offers companies flexibility and security in their operating processes and simplifies international cooperation and logistics.
Our IEC standard motor products
IEC standard motors are characterized by their energy-efficient and environmentally friendly operation and are also suitable for operation on a frequency converter. These motors are designed according to the EN 60034 (IEC 60072) standard and their mounting dimensions as well as the allocation of power correspond to the specifications according to DIN 42673, 42677 or progressive. They are manufactured in a robust, low-vibration gray cast iron design and offer protection class IP 55 as standard, although higher protection classes up to IP 65 are also available upon request. With a thermal class of 155 (F) and an optional thermal reserve of up to 180 (H), they are designed for high thermal loads. The motor connection boxes can be mounted either at the top, right or left, which allows for a high level of flexibility during installation. In addition, these engines can be modified in many ways and can optionally be equipped with a transponder to offer additional functionalities.
