VEM is the only one to receive the Bosch Global Supplier Award 2017 in the category “Innovation” Award honours an innovative VEM solution for development of the hydraulic power unit CytroPac
The VEM Group was honoured for its contribution to development of the new hydraulic power unit CytroPac from Bosch Rexroth AG when the winners of this year’s Bosch Global Supplier Awards were announced by Robert Bosch GmbH on 12th July 2017. The coveted award was granted in the category “Innovation”. A total of 44 companies from 11 countries were commended for their outstanding cooperation and services to Bosch during the two-day event in Fellbach near Stuttgart. This year only one of more than 30.000 companies which work together with Bosch received an award in the category “Innovation”.
Managing director Dr. Torsten Kuntze and Roland Zänger, head of low voltage sales, accepted the award on behalf of VEM. The motto of this year’s award ceremony – already the 15th in the series – was “Partners in Success”. The compact power unit developed together with Bosch Rexroth is in every sense a successful innovation for the hydraulic market. Under the name CytroPac, it is used above all in machine tool engineering. The attractive housing may be small, but it still accommodates frequency converter, motor, pump and sensors. The intelligent hydraulic unit guarantees Industry 4.0 compatibility. “Bosch Rexroth showed us its new cooling system, and we then developed the entire motor, the flange for the pump, the end shield for the heat pipes and a complete housing to match,” says Sylvia Blankenhagen, head of design at the VEM location in Zwickau. The relatively short development time can be attributed not only to engineering expertise, but also to the longstanding and well-tuned cooperation between the two companies. It was not least against this background that Bosch Rexroth AG nominated VEM for the award.
